There are lots of options when it comes to removing that drab and split concrete sidewalk that you have been staring at for years. Your thinking its time to remove it but really don’t want to spend the money with hiring a contractor or spend countless hours of your own time and back breaking effort to get it removed.

Now there is a product that provides another option and is much less expensive and less back breaking. The product is called Ecobust. It can break concrete like you have never seen before. Its a non explosive demolition compound that creates 20,000 PSI at full expansion. Ecobust provides controlled demolition according to the pattern of holes drilled. It breaks both concrete and reinforced concrete in the desired shape and size efficiently, without noise or vibration. You simply have to drill, mix and pour this product into 1 1/2″ holes that are drilled to 80% of the depth of the concrete. In a few hours the work is done having done these three simple steps.

Ecobust is distributed by Otter Creek and can be purchased in 11lb bags for $43.00 and 44lb bags for $109.00. Ecobust is sold through selected retailers in Canada and the United States. If you have interest in purchasing, or just have some questions about this innovative product please contact Otter Creek at 1-800-981-3590

I came across a great product that you can put around your concrete patio to make it look like a Ipe deck. This product is called Diamond Essence Ipe wood decking tile and the tiles lock together to make quick work of installation. The wood strips are made of Ipe which is a Brazilain Walnut and the tiles come in 12×24 and 12×12 sizes with matching moldings such as corner reducers and straight reducers. Brazilian Walnut comes mainly from South America and the manufacturer has created a unique fastening system that allows the tiles to snap together. The manufacturer calls it “Outdoor Wood Flooring” and I must say it’s beautiful and easy to install for the DIY. The tiles are mainly used on patios and balconies to cover up cold concrete surfaces and provide a tropical hardwood deck that is warm to the feet and much nicer to stand on with bare feet.

Stainless Steel Railings have gained in popularity in recent years as an option over standard railing systems such as wood or aluminum. Stainless Steel Railings offer a modern and elegent look to any exterior or interior railing project whether it be for a private residence or a commercial project. Our stainless steel railings are made from 316 Marine Grade stainless which is the best grade of stainless steel on the marketplace and should be the only grade of stainless steel you should consider if installing our railings in coastal areas where salt air is present. The 316 Marine Grade is formulated to protect against rust and corrosion in salt air environments.

We offer three systems with the stainless steel railings which are glass, vertical round pickets and horizontal wire rope. Each of these systems come with two inch round polished stainless steel top and bottom rails and stainless steel vertical posts We custom manufacture these railings to specific project requirments and deliver them direct to your door by FedEx. It takes approximately 6 weeks to produce most orders. We ask that you or your contractor provide drawings of your project showing exact measurements and dimensions because we use these drawings in determining accuracy when producing your railings. Average costs per lineal foot of our stainless steel railing systems are $185.00 and this includes all hardware, stainless steel tubing and choice of glass, vertical pickets or horizontal wire rope. Any one of these systems can be installed by the DIY but we recommend having your contractor install if possible. It normally takes one or two days to install depending on how complicated you project is. If your project is incorporating stairs particular attention has to made to the raise and fall and number of treads your stairs have. We ask that you count the number of treads and measure their depth and the raise of each.

We can offer site inspections and installation for our local marketplace at a cost of $60.00 per hour for site inspections and $120.00 per hour for installation. If your choice of systems is the horizontal wire rope and its a residential project we ask that you consult with your local building inspector prior to ordering as some restrictions apply based on the climability of this sytem in the residential building codes.

For more information on our stainless steel railings please visit this link http://www.ottercreekforestproducts.com/stainless-steel-railings.html
