Need a post anchor that will hold down almost anything than your search is over by purchasing the Titan Post Anchor. The Titan Post Anchor is an internal anchoring system for wood posts in both 4×4 and 6×6 sizes. The wood post anchoring system is the first of its kind when it comes to the application of fastening a wood post to deck or porch surface. Homeowners and building contractors can now fasten a wood post to a wood or concrete surface without having to look at those ugly external fasteners. The Titan has a long center tube that is placed within the center of the wood post by drilling into the core of the post with a hole saw and then fastened with galvanized lags from the underside of the post anchor. Once this is done you simply fasten the wood post with the anchor attached to any location on your deck surface. Make sure you nail in some 2×6 or 2×8 wood blocks between your deck joists so you can obtain maximum holding strength. The Titan Post Anchor can be purchased at several Canadian Retailers or by going to www.myocstore.com

Which screws make the most scense when building a deck.

May 11th, 2009

I came across a great site which provides some useful information about which fasteners you should consider when building your new deck.  The website is www.mcfeeleys.com and they offer some great tips on various types of fasteners for various types of material such as pressure treated, cedar, tropical and composite. They even have a calculator which estimates the number of fasteners you will require.

Otter Creek currently sells two types of hidden fasteners for our customers who wish to have no screw holes showing in the top of their deck surface. The IpeClip and the EbTy Hidden Deck Fasteners work very well. We sell both of these hidden fasteners on our www.myocstore.com website.
