I came across a great product that you can put around your concrete patio to make it look like a Ipe deck. This product is called Diamond Essence Ipe wood decking tile and the tiles lock together to make quick work of installation. The wood strips are made of Ipe which is a Brazilain Walnut and the tiles come in 12×24 and 12×12 sizes with matching moldings such as corner reducers and straight reducers. Brazilian Walnut comes mainly from South America and the manufacturer has created a unique fastening system that allows the tiles to snap together. The manufacturer calls it “Outdoor Wood Flooring” and I must say it’s beautiful and easy to install for the DIY.
