and the tiles lock together to make quick work of installation. The wood strips are made of Ipe which is a Brazilain Walnut and the tiles come in 12×24 and 12×12 sizes with matching moldings such as corner reducers and straight reducers. Brazilian Walnut comes mainly from South America and the manufacturer has created a unique fastening system that allows the tiles to snap together. The manufacturer calls it “Outdoor Wood Flooring” and I must say it’s beautiful and easy to install for the DIY. The tiles are mainly used on patios and balconies to cover up cold concrete surfaces and provide a tropical hardwood deck that is warm to the feet and much nicer to stand on with bare feet.
