Cutek Green Wood Preservative

Wood that is to be coated with Cutek Green should be clean and dry and ideally with a residual moisture content of no higher than 17%. Do not apply Cutek Green to exterior wood if its likely to rain within 24 hours of application.

Cold temperatures may increase the viscosity of Cutek Green, tending to slow down the rate of diffusion. Storing containers in a warm place immediately prior to application will help alleviate this problem. Because Cutek Green dries by diffusing into the wood substrate, application of a second coat of Cutek Green too quickly after the first coat in cold weather will significantly delay the penetration and drying of the finished coating. If this inadvertently occurs, remove the access Cutek Green from the surface with a rag will promote faster drying. Alternatively, the application of the second coat of Cutek Green may be delayed for up to three months in cold weather, with no detrimental effect to the effectiveness of the original coating.

Woodrich Hardwood Finishing Kit

Woodrich Hardwood Finishing Kit. I used it on my Ipe deck and I liked the results. If you buy the “kit” it provides you the cleaner, brightener and the finishing product. Most homeowners do not realize that their deck is dirty after supplier storage, transportation and construction of the deck and it needs to be cleaned and brightened before applying the finishing product. The cleaning and brightener product is granular and comes in 2lb and 10lb sizes. You simply mix the product in water and spray on and spray off. This gives the surface of your deck a new beginning and ready for the application of the Woodrich finishing product. This product is formulated to the natural color pigments of Ipe and thus lasts longer as it takes longer for the UV light to break down the surface of the Ipe. I also like the fact that it does not peel. I have tried numerous other products and I was always left with peeling issues.  The stain formula is called “Amaretto” and the product can be purchased at www.myocstore.com
