Cutek Wood Preservative

CUTEK™ is a unique penetrating oil that has proven to be the ideal stabiliser and decorative coating for exterior lumber. By providing long-term water damage control, CUTEK™ helps to maintain the natural appearance of wood and provides unparalleled dimensional stability.

Prior to applying Cutek to new pressure treated lumber it is recommended that the lumber be washed with Cutek ProClean counteracting the weathering process by eliminating years of discoloration and fungus. It cleans, brightens and restores wood surfaces back to the appearance of new wood. By applying Cutek ProClean to new pressure treated wood prior to using Cutek wood preservative it will open the surface pores of the wood that in the process of pressure treating have developed a “Mill Glaze” feel to the surface of freshly sawn wood. By washing with Cutek ProClean prior to applying Cutek wood preservative it allows the wood preservative to quickly penetrate the pressure treated wood.

Cutek Extreme Wood Preservative

CUTEKExtreme® is a high-performance oil-based wood preservative and stabilizer. In order for CUTEKExtreme® to function properly it is essential that it is able to diffuse deeply into the wood. Any situation that would hinder this free diffusion such as retained moisture, insufficient time between coats, or the presence of any surface sealant or barrier, must be avoided or satisfactorily remedied by correct procedure and product selection prior to the application of CUTEKExtreme®. CUTEKExtreme® is suitable for use on new wood and timbers and assists with the minimisation of extractive bleed out. Ensure that surfaces to be coated with CUTEKExtreme® are clean and Dry, with a residual moisture content of no more than 12%.

Cutek Extreme Blondetone on Pine

Ecobust Product Packaging

Walked through the Home Hardware store the other day and noticed a producted called Ecobust. I asked one of the attendants to explain how it worked and discovered that Ecobust can eliminate the need for heavy equipment or back breaking jack hammers to break up concrete.

It explained on the pail that it was a  a three step process of drill, mix and pour. Ecobust comes in 11lb and 44lb pails and its in a powder form. It gets mixed with water and then you stir it into a slurry like chocolate milk and then pour it into the holes that must be drilled into the concrete prior to starting. The holes must be 1 1/2″ in diameter to achieve the best results.

After the pour is done within the drilled holes you leave it and as it dries it expands to 20,000 PSI and will break your concrete up. The attendant said it would normally take 24 hours and the concrete would be broke up.
